Baby Ejected from Vehicle in Crash

A baby is in critical condition after being thrown from a van that was rear ended by a suspected drunk driver at the 33400 block of Pacific Highway South at 12 a.m. on Thursday morning. The baby's mother had removed the child from the safety seat for a feeding in the front passenger seat. Both parents were wearing their seat belts and were not injured in the crash. The driver of the vehicle that hit them was taken to the hospital to have her blood drawn to test for the presence of alcohol.

Unfortunately, some of the most tragic Seattle auto accidents involve children that are not properly restrained in child safety seats. This crash is a sad reminder that children must be secured in federally approved child safety seats at all times while riding in a motor vehicle. However, even when properly restrained, children can be seriously injured in a car accident. If your child has been injured in an accident caused by another driver’s negligence, a Seattle accident attorney can help you get full compensation for your child’s injuries.

Two Accidents at the Same Intersection Kill 1 Pedestrian, Injure Another

Two consecutive motor vehicle accidents this week left one pedestrian dead and another with life-threatening injuries. On Tuesday night, a truck struck and killed a 78-year-old woman at the intersection of Ranier Avenue South and South Andover Street. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the accident. The following night, another pedestrian was the victim of a hit-and-run incident at the same intersection, causing life-threatening injuries. In the second accident, police suspect that the driver, who ran onto the curb and hit the pedestrian, may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Unfortunately, pedestrians involved in motor vehicle accidents often suffer serious or fatal injuries, as was the case in these tragic accidents. Many of these crashes are caused by negligent or reckless conduct on the part of motor vehicle drivers. If you have been injured in an auto accident caused by the negligence of another, you deserve to be compensated for your injuries. An experienced Seattle car accident lawyer can help you get compensation for any medical bills, pain and suffering, and lost wages that resulted from the accident.
